Design Collective, Columbus
David maintains an active role in the design process for both interior and graphic-oriented projects. Besides designing, he has written numerous articles and has had his project work published regularly. David has served his profession as National President of the Institute of Business Designers (now the IIDA), and the first National President of the Governing Board of Contract Design Standards. He is a member of the IIDA College of Fellows (FIIDA). David was the recipient of the Human Achievement Award and the IBD Distinguished Merit Award, both presented by the Institute of Business Designers. He serves on Columbus’ Italian Village Commission and the Harrington College of Design’s Advisory Board in Chicago.
David holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Hanover College (Hanover, Indiana) and passed the National Council for Interior Design Qualifications (NCIDQ®) Examination (Certificate #2674/1980).
In a past life David lived in Oslo, Norway—as either a painter or a gourmet chef. He has a fear of sky diving, but if he could land on a South Seas island, he would consider it. A new downtown painting studio fulfills his need to be creative “after hours.”
